Tensioning your ElectroBraid® fence is important because it ensures safety of your animals, longevity of the fence and a clean, pastoral look. Proper tension is almost as important as your energizer; it provides the rigidity needed to bounce animals back away from the fence if they come into contact with it – just like the ropes in a boxing ring.
ElectroBraid®’s tension kit has everything you need to quickly and easily add tension to your fence. The kit comes complete with ratchet, s-hook, clamp, rope and a simple instruction booklet. By following these easy steps, your fence will be tensioned in no time.
To assemble your tension kit, tie the s-hook to one end of the ratchet rope, and insert the other end of the ratchet rope into the ratchet opposite the release switch, around the ratchet wheel and then out again in the opposite direction. Then, tie a knot in the ratchet rope to prevent it from slipping back out of the ratchet.
Begin by donning proper eye protection. Remember that tensioned materials can break and become a projectile.
That’s it! Now, remember to allow ElectroBraid® to sit for 24 hours after initial tensioning, giving posts time to settle. Re-tensioning after 24 hours completes the tensioning process. ElectroBraid® maintains its tension very well, so you will not have to constantly re-tension unless posts are moved by frost or if animals or machinery collide with it.
